Community Health Insurance Agency (CHIA)

CHIA is available to all TACHC members for consultation on any insurance questions or issues a member may have with their insurance program. This consultation is provided by the TACHC Insurance Program Specialist who is a licensed insurance agent.

CHIA is contracted with insurance companies and brokers where outpatient health care is a preferred class of business. Markets are available for all lines of insurance.

TACHC Purchasing Group

The Texas Association of Community Health Centers Purchasing Group, Inc. (TACHC PG) was established to provide group medical malpractice insurance for members of TACHC. After the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) was established, TACHC PG sought coverage for the 'gap' in coverage for those situations outside of FTCA. TACHC PG is committed to quality improvement and sets aside proceeds from insurance refunds for these purposes such as the TACHC Performance Improvement (OC3) Manual and monthly trainings.

Corporation for the Development of Community Health Centers (CDCHC)

CDCHC is a non-profit corporation which administers a revolving loan fund specifically and exclusively to finance the capital needs (land, buildings and equipment) of Federally Qualified Health Centers, Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alikes and similar community primary care facilities which meet basic structural requirements for FQHCs. It is affiliated with the Texas Association of Community Health Centers, which provides technical assistance for developing, maintaining, and expanding community health centers. CDCHC’s service area is the state of Texas.

According to policies adopted by the Board of Directors, "CDCHC exists to assist health centers by making capital financing available at favorable rates and on favorable terms. It is the policy of CDCHC to provide expedient and low-cost service to its clients, allowing more of their resources to go into the care of their clients."
