Speaker Lara de Leon, Esq., Shareholder at the employment law firm of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. will present an employment law update covering the latest on topics including anti-harassment, medication at work, employment benefits and non-competition.
PART 2 Thursday, April 18, 9am-11am CT
Speaker Kelly Ogle, Director of OSHA and HIPAA services at Doctors Management, will train health center staff on Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements so that they in turn can train all health center staff. OSHA requires health centers to train their staff to ensure a safe and healthful working environment per the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. This part of the 3 part webcast training series will meet this requirement and cover fundamental OSHA requirements, recent updates and common problem areas relevant to health centers. Topics include: OSHA Rights and Responsibilities, Bloodborne Pathogens, General Safety, Emergency Evacuation, Hazardous Chemicals, Ergonomics, Workplace Violence, and Tuberculosis.
PART 3 Thursday, May 23, 9am -11am CST
As usual for TACHC OC³ CPI Webcasts, we will send out homework, but this time after Parts 1 and 2 to help you follow up on your center’s compliance with the requirements we trained on. Then TACHC staff Lisa Allen, SHRM-CP and Verne LaGrega, LMSW and former health center COO will join host Cecile Carson, Esq. for Part 3. They will address remaining problem areas the homework reveals based on their experience working at and with health centers and other organizations on employment matters and especially OSHA.
