Accountant

The Accountant supports the Director of Finance and Human Resources of TACHC in all accounting, financial, and human resource operations for TACHC in order to ensure properly managed cash and accounts and provide accurate, timely financial information to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. The Accountant also compiles historical financial data in order to report to funding sources and comply with Single Audit requirements outlined in the Uniform Grant Guidance. The Accountant also provides these services to TACHC’s affiliates (two corporations – one non-profit and one for-profit).

Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting for TACHC
  • Processes cash receipts and disbursements
  • Reconciles bank statements
  • Processes day-to-day accounts payable and receivable
  • Assists Director of Finance and Human Resources during annual audits
  • Assists with tracking fixed assets annually
  • Assists staff in physical inventory annually

Accounting for affiliates

  • Processes cash receipts and disbursements
  • Reconciles bank statements
  • Reports regularly to Director of Finance and Human Resources on cash flow and cash balances
  • Processes day-to-day accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepares financial statements for the Director of Finance and Human Resources for presentation to TACHC’s Executive Director and affiliate Board of Directors at least quarterly
  • Assists Director of Finance and Human Resources during annual audits


Grants management

  • Provide support to Director of Finance and Human Resources in the submission of required reports to Federal, State and private funding sources
  • Prepares monthly invoices for reimbursements from grant funding sources


Human Resources

  • Assist Director of Finance and Human Resources in processing payroll and related payroll tax reports and payroll tax deposits
  • Assist Director of Finance in maintenance of all personnel records and fringe benefit enrollments for staff
  • Assist Director of Finance with on-boarding of new employees


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required

  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word


Preferred

  • Knowledge of MIP fund accounting software
  • Intermediate knowledge of QuickBooks


Credentials and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
  • 1 to 3 years accounting experience


Preferred

  • Grants Management Certification
  • Nonprofit experience
