As a Clinical Care Coordinator, Verne provides technical assistance and guidance to member centers on clinically oriented matters/efforts, including policy and procedures, quality improvement and Risk Management by telephone, email or on site. In addition, he obtains and provides resources on matters that are specific to an individual centers needs. Verne coordinates participating teams and faculty activities related to the OC3 Learning Year. He is a member of a variety of stakeholder groups such as the Texas Asthma Coalition, Test Texas HIV Coalition, and Patient Centered Medical Home Workgroup. 'Prior to joining TACHC in 2007, was a Chief Operating Officer of a federally qualified health center for 9 years coordinating the administration of federal and state grants, the Joint Commission survey and (re)accreditation activities as well as the operations of medical records, laboratory, pharmacy, and behavioral health services. He was the Team Leader for the Senior Leadership, Diabetes Collaborative and Access redesign initiatives. Previous employment positions held were Program Director of a children's diagnostic program, Adolescent Psychiatric Case Manager, Adult Brain Injury Case Manager, Pediatric Social Worker and a Special Handicapped Occupational Education Teacher.
