As TACHC’s Purchasing Program Director (PPD), Kathryn directs TACHC’s group purchasing of a variety of products and services including: pharmaceuticals; medical/surgical supplies; laboratory services; and dental supplies; and equipment in order to connect community health centers to high quality, discounted products and services.  She manages the day to day activities for the purchasing programs such as an answering questions from potential participants and calculating potential savings based on their recent usage to encourage centers to join the program; providing technical assistance for current participants; acting as a liaison between pharmacy manufacturers and the wholesaler as well as the medical supplies wholesalers, group purchasing organizations (GPOs), dental distributors, and reference lab companies.

Kathryn earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy at The University of Texas in Austin in 1992.  She has worked for independent pharmacies in Austin as well as chain drug stores.  Additionally, she worked for the City of Austin inspecting Class D pharmacies. She has over 13 years of experience working in an FQHC pharmacy and is familiar with running multiple inventories for one pharmacy.  Kathryn was the Pharmacist in Charge for 22 years in both mail order and clinic pharmacies.
