World AIDS Day: Equitable Access, Everyone's Voice

In recognition of World AIDS Day 2021, TACHC encourages all providers (pediatricians, family medicine, behavioral health, pharmacy, dentistry) to attend a special 2-hour event focused on the national theme of Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access, Everyone’s Voice.

  • According to the CDC, although HIV rates for adolescents and young adults decreased between 2015-2019, this population also “accounted for 21% of the 36,801 diagnoses of HIV infection”; additionally, 51% of new HIV infections occurred in the Southern region of the United States – of which Texas is included.
  • Join us for presentations and discussions on ‘Reducing Stigma to End the Epidemic’ and ‘Best Practices on: Taking Sexual Health History’
  • Addressing HIV among adolescents and young adults in a trauma informed, patient-centered and equitable way will enable community health centers to provide them with the tools they need to make healthy decisions, reduce their risk factors, get treatment, and stay in care – ultimately working to end the HIV Epidemic.

  • 1. Describe the importance of engaging with adolescents and young adults in HIV prevention, diagnoses and treatment.
    2. Understand the role that community health centers play in providing inclusive and equitable access to adolescents and young adults.
    3. Implement language and practice recommendations that welcome and support people who are at higher risk for HIV.

You can contact Aniela Brown ([email protected]) for content information and TaSheena Mitchell ([email protected]) for registration assistance.

2021 UDS Training, Virtual 2-Part Series

TACHC will conduct the annual training for the UDS report virtually in a two-part series. Participants should plan to attend both sessions to receive a complete and comprehensive understanding of the UDS report.  During the training, you can expect to understand the reporting for the UDS report, including the patient profile, reporting clinical services and quality of care indicators, operational and financial tables, and other required forms. TACHC's staff will also share new requirements included in the 2021 reporting, strategies for submission, and valuable resources to provide further reporting guidance. For registration questions, please get in touch with TaSheena Mitchell or Albert Alvarez for more information.
